In order to make sure CUPC certified ceramic sinks with premium look,the special examination is necessary to check for defects on the surface finishes . Generally, the sinks will be examined by unaided eyes approximately 610 mm directly above the rim. Besides, there is also strict regulation for the light source used to examine surface finish, which shall partially diffused daylight supplemented. If necessary, diffused artificial light is available to give an illuminance on the surface of a minimum of 1100 lx.
During the examination, the specimen shall be rocked to each side and backward to an angle of approximately 45°. For the evaluation, surface finishes shall be free from defects that could affect the intended purpose of a ceramic sink. Thus, there is no permission for any defects affecting use or serviceability, such as sharp and jagged edges, burrs or cracks. What’s more, the following situation shall be cause for rejection: crazes, surface discoloration, dull or eggshell finish, exposed body, fire checks, large blisters and projections.
