Overflow Test For cUPC Ceramic Sinks

The overflows may be provided at the option of the manufacturer and in North American market, it is generally needed in ceramic sinks. In general, the manner in which they are positioned shall be at the option of the manufacturer, but the overflow  shall be accessible for disassembly and cleaning after the installation.
 
On the other hand, the overflow test is dispensable for CUPC certificate. During the procedure, a waste fitting used to install the specimen shall comply with ASME standard and supply also be at the maximum flow rate specified in the standard. When the waste outlet is closed, the test engineer will measure the elapsed time from the onset of water flowing into the overflow opening until the water begins to flow over the flood level of the specimen. If the overflowing time should be at the minimum of five minutes, the ceramic sinks can pass the test of cUPC certification.
