Drawn stainless steel sinks are ordinary stainless steel sinks that we usually see in daily life. This kind of sink is made through a process in which a whole steel plate is pressed and stretched by the machine with the model at one time. It’s kind of like blowing a balloon to some extent. For this reason, the bottom and corners of a drawn stainless steel sink will become relatively thinner. Therefore, the raw material of stainless steel usually has a thickness of 0.8mm.

Hand-made stainless steel sinks have more to do with craftsmanship. However, they are not produced by knocking the stainless steel little by little as some people imagine. Instead, these kinds of stainless steel sinks are made by cutting, bending and laser welding the steel plate, which will not change the thickness of the steel plate at the corners.

The difference between the two can be seen directly from appearance. The machines and equipment can’t make right angle corners, and thus most of drawn stainless steel sinks have rounded and smooth corners. Whereas hand-made stainless steel sinks can be bent into smaller corners artificially, which are called "R angles". The small R angle of the hand-made stainless steel sinks not only makes them look prettier, but also improves the utilization rate of space. The only drawback of this kind of stainless steel sink is that it’s relatively harder to clean.

In addition to the differences mentioned above, we can also distinguish them by observing the back of the sinks. The whole body of a drawn stainless steel sink is smooth. The hand-made stainless steel sink is welded by a steel plate, so there are usually welding traces at the joints of edges and corners.

At present, the price of a hand-made stainless steel sink is generally higher than that of a drawn stainless steel sink but the quality of the former is often better. If conditions permit, it is recommended to choose hand-made stainless steel sinks.
